About the Role

PATH is a global leader in health innovation, saving lives and improving health equity among women and children across Africa and Asia. We are currently seeking a dedicated Advocacy, Communication, and Social Mobilization (ACSM) Officer to support community outreach and engagement activities aimed at boosting routine immunization coverage in Kebbi State, Nigeria. Working alongside the lead ACSM officer and the PATH Kebbi Routine Immunization State Program Manager, you will oversee mobilizers and collaborate closely with local stakeholders to overcome health challenges and deliver measurable results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with state and LGA health officials, traditional leaders, and religious leaders to develop effective demand generation and community engagement strategies across 16 LGAs in Kebbi State.
  • Contribute to project workplans and provide vital feedback on community outreach and mobilization activities.
  • Support the training of Mobile Immunization Team (MIT) mobilizers to ensure the accurate dissemination of clear vaccine information and messages.
  • Participate in microplanning, offering guidance on the location and timing of outreaches based on local vaccine acceptance and demand.
  • Adapt project materials to counter misinformation, rumors, and new health events while aligning with Kebbi State government health information.
  • Organize advocacy visits, stakeholder meetings, and community events such as town hall meetings, market outreaches, and school engagements.
  • Document project successes, challenges, solutions, and lessons learned to strengthen the linkage between communities and health facilities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related programmatic experience in community mobilization activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement impactful community outreach strategies.
  • Strong, creative communication skills with the ability to translate technical immunization content for diverse community audiences.
  • Proven experience providing leadership, supervision, and mentorship to field teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, public communication, and organizational skills.
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English, coupled with a willingness to travel extensively within Kebbi State.
