We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Public Area Cleaner to join our dynamic housekeeping department in Port Harcourt. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that all public spaces, lobbies, and shared facilities remain spotless, welcoming, and compliant with the highest standards of hygiene and presentation.
Key Responsibilities- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of all hotel or facility public areas, including lobbies, corridors, elevators, and restrooms.
- Dust, polish, and wipe down furniture, fixtures, windows, and decorative items regularly throughout the shift.
- Vacuum carpets, sweep, and mop hard-surface floors to ensure they are free of debris and slip hazards.
- Empty trash cans, replace bin liners, and properly dispose of waste according to facility safety protocols.
- Monitor and replenish restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and tissue.
- Identify and report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged property immediately to the housekeeping supervisor.
- Maintain cleaning equipment in good working order and ensure supply closets are organized and stocked.
- Deliver courteous and professional interactions with guests and visitors while maintaining a discreet and helpful demeanor.
- Proven professional experience working as a Public Area Cleaner, housekeeper, or in a similar janitorial role within the hospitality industry.
- Relevant educational qualifications and a strong understanding of commercial cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy items for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
