About the Role
Hermes Oil Services Limited, a major provider in the downstream oil and gas sector, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and reconciling all financial inflows and outflows, ensuring strict accountability and transparent reporting in line with our core value of highest integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, requisitions, staff expense claims, and cash advances.
- Create new vendor profiles, conduct bank verification, and perform vendor account reconciliations.
- Oversee receivables from stations and supply sales, manage income and expenses, and assist in maintaining the cash flow position.
- Conduct due diligence on overdue accounts, follow up with clients proactively, and assist with credit management and supplier credit applications.
- Post cash receipts promptly, resolve discrepancies, and reconcile vendor statements with bank records.
- Collaborate with the Financial Accountant on bank reconciliations and payment forecasts.
- Support internal and external audit requirements and manage effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable roles.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
