Greenland University, Jalingo, the first private university in Taraba State, Nigeria, is seeking dedicated and qualified professionals to fill the position of Accountant within our Bursary department. As an Accountant at our esteemed institution, you will play a critical role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the overall growth and development of the university.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Ensure strict compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and university financial policies.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, budgets, and variance analyses for university management.
- Utilize computerized accounting systems to process payroll, reconcile bank accounts, and maintain financial databases.
- Assist internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation and financial records during audits.
- Support the Bursar in formulating financial strategies and managing institutional funds efficiently.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Active professional certification from ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) or ANAN (Association of National Accountants of Nigeria).
- Demonstrated proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Hands-on experience working with modern computerized accounting systems and enterprise resource planning software.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with high ethical standards.
