About the Role

Federal University Lafia, established in 2011 in Nasarawa State, is committed to expanding access to quality higher education in Nigeria. We are currently inviting applications from suitably qualified, dynamic, and career-driven professionals for the position of Accountant II to strengthen our financial administration and contribute to our institutional mandate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ledgers, and periodic accounting reports.
  • Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Ensure compliance with extant public sector financial regulations, university policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing accurate documentation and records.
  • Collaborate with various departments to track budgets, monitor expenditures, and process financial transactions efficiently.
  • Perform any other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a good Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Accountancy or Accounting from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Mandatory possession of a one (1) year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate or an official Exception certificate.
  • Basic proficiency in computerized accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills, high integrity, and meticulous attention to detail.
