About the Role

The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE) was established on March 14, 2024, with the mandate to improve healthcare needs and increase specialized manpower output in Nigeria. Evolving from the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, the university now comprises six faculties and 17 departments. We are currently seeking a dedicated and meticulous Accountant II to support our growing financial administration and ensure transparent resource management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic financial statements, budgets, and expenditure reports in accordance with public sector financial regulations.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records, ledger accounts, and financial databases for the university.
  • Process payroll, vendor invoices, travel claims, and other financial disbursements efficiently.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing requested documentation and schedules.
  • Ensure strict compliance with extant financial guidelines, federal government circulars, and university policies.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must possess a relevant Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACA, ANAN) or progress toward completion is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated competence, professional integrity, and strong ethical standards.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
