About the Role
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Nigeria's premier tertiary institution, is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified professional to join our finance team as an Accountant I. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining financial integrity, supporting institutional growth, and ensuring transparent financial operations within a dynamic academic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounting statements in compliance with institutional policies and public sector standards.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and periodic financial reports for management review.
- Manage revenue collections, expenditure tracking, and payroll processing with high precision and confidentiality.
- Reconcile bank statements, ledger accounts, and resolve financial discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors during financial audits and ensure compliance with statutory financial regulations.
- Possession of a good Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Lower Division in Accountancy or related financial discipline.
- Mandatory possession of the NYSC Discharge Certificate or exemption letter.
- At least two (2) years of post-qualification cognate accounting experience, preferably within the public sector or tertiary education.
- Strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and high attention to detail.
