About the Role
Greensprings School, a premier independent day and boarding institution established in 1985, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant (Accounts Payable) to join our dynamic finance team at our Lekki Campus in Lagos. In this vital role, you will ensure the seamless management of our accounts payable processes, supporting our commitment to institutional excellence and operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Process and verify supplier invoices, payment requests, and supporting documentation in line with established procedures.
- Ensure all invoices are properly authorised and accurately coded before processing.
- Prepare payment schedules and process approved payments within agreed timelines.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and other financial records.
- Perform regular reconciliation of accounts payable ledgers and related control accounts.
- Ensure appropriate tax deductions, including withholding tax and other applicable statutory deductions, are applied.
- Assist with audit exercises by providing relevant schedules, invoices, and supporting documentation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification or progress towards ICAN or ACCA is an advantage.
- 4 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, specifically in an Accounts Payable role.
- Strong proficiency in using accounting and ERP software.
- Good understanding of Nigerian tax laws and statutory financial requirements.
