About the Role
Najec FMCG Limited is a reputable and rapidly growing leader in the distribution and supply of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) across Nigeria. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced Accountant to manage our financial operations, ensure strict statutory compliance, and maintain robust internal controls across our branches.
Key Responsibilities- Manage general ledger operations, journal entries, prepayments, and month-end financial adjustments.
- Perform regular bank and supplier reconciliations while resolving any discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, reconcile physical stock, and investigate variances, damages, or shortages.
- Prepare and remit statutory obligations accurately, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, Pension, NSITF, and ITF.
- Process monthly payroll and reconcile data with HR and attendance records.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly management accounts, budgets, and cash-flow forecasts.
- Enforce rigorous financial controls in collaboration with internal control teams to prevent revenue leakages.
- B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on accounting experience within the FMCG, retail, distribution, or trading sector.
- Active progress toward or completion of professional accounting qualifications such as ICAN or ACCA.
- Proven proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks or Sage, alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance requirements.
