About the Role

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, strategic, and professional Accountant to oversee our financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and protect shareholders' funds. In this pivotal role, you will provide strong leadership to our finance team, drive process improvements, and deliver accurate financial reports to support executive decision-making within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal control policies, procedures, and IFRS standards across all daily financial transactions.
  • Manage the SAGE Evolution finance system, reviewing data integrity, completeness, and accuracy of set-up accounts.
  • Handle timely statutory remittances including PAYE, VAT, Corporate Tax, NSITF, and Withholding Tax (WHT).
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
  • Liaise effectively with external auditors and regulatory bodies to facilitate seamless audit processes.
  • Maintain a favourable accounts receivable position through timely billing, aggressive debt recovery, and management of staff cash advances.
  • Identify, control, and mitigate financial and accounting risks inherent in the supply chain and logistics operations.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor the finance team through regular performance evaluations and strategic direction.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification such as ACA, ACCA, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven accounting experience, preferably within the logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Hands-on proficiency with SAGE Evolution and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, and statutory compliance frameworks.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
