About the Role
Efezi Southsea Nigeria Limited, a premier hospitality consulting firm incorporated in 2009, is seeking a dedicated and analytical Accountant to join our head office team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining financial integrity, optimizing cost controls, and providing strategic financial insights to support our growing portfolio of small and medium hotels across the country.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate daily records of all financial transactions, including income, expenses, and ledgers.
- Verify daily room, restaurant, bar, and event revenues while reconciling cash, POS, and bank transfers.
- Monitor accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely debt collection and supplier payments.
- Conduct regular bank and cash reconciliations, promptly investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare accurate monthly payroll, verifying staff salaries, deductions, and allowances.
- Assist management in budget preparation and monitor departmental expenses to eliminate wastage.
- Collaborate with various departments to oversee inventory, stock consumption, and variance checks.
- Generate comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly financial and management reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to tax and statutory compliance obligations and support internal audits.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of proven accounting work experience, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Strong proficiency in financial reporting, revenue control, and inventory management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
