About the Role

Terra Energy Services Nigeria Ltd (TES) is a leading indigenous engineering and oil and gas service company committed to providing integrated solutions across the energy value chain. We are currently looking for a skilled, dedicated Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at our Lagos office. In this full-time, on-site role, you will play a critical part in maintaining financial integrity, optimizing cost control, and supporting our strategic growth in West Africa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable in line with industry standards.
  • Manage project accounting activities, including tracking project costs, monitoring expenses, and ensuring accurate allocation of resources.
  • Prepare and issue client invoices based on contractual agreements and project milestones while monitoring overall budgets and expenditures.
  • Ensure timely computation and remittance of statutory deductions such as VAT, Withholding Tax, PAYE, and Pension contributions.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and tax submissions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts regularly, resolving discrepancies promptly and preparing for internal and external audits.
  • Implement effective internal financial controls and collaborate with procurement and project teams to ensure robust cost control.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA are highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in financial accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and tax compliance, preferably within the oil and gas or engineering sector.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Possession of an ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Certification will be an added advantage.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
