About the Role
Nexia Agbo Abel & Co. is a leading Nigerian professional advisory firm and a member of Nexia International. We are currently seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Accountant – Payroll to join our vibrant Outsource Department. The successful candidate will provide accurate, timely payroll processing and accounting support for various clients while ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Process monthly payroll accurately for multiple clients within agreed timelines.
- Prepare comprehensive payroll schedules, salary computations, payslips, and periodic reports.
- Ensure timely preparation and remittance of statutory obligations including PAYE, pension, NHF, and NSITF.
- Maintain accurate employee records and process staff changes such as promotions, exits, and salary adjustments.
- Reconcile payroll data to the general ledger, bank payments, and statutory remittances.
- Respond promptly to payroll-related queries from clients and employees while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Support payroll audits and contribute to other accounting and outsourcing assignments as required.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline with a minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1).
- 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in payroll processing, accounting, finance, or outsourcing.
- Professional qualifications such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN are an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, labor regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting systems, and modern payroll software.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
