About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and analytical Accountant to join our reputable cleaning and facilities services company in Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for accurate day-to-day financial recordkeeping, statutory compliance, tax management, payroll processing, and comprehensive financial reporting to support strategic operational decision-making. You will play a vital role in ensuring cash flow integrity, robust cost control across various service contracts, and timely regulatory filings.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax filings.
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing and accurate remittance of statutory deductions.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and aggressive collections.
- Develop and monitor comprehensive budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Liaise professionally with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Provide actionable financial insights to support management in strategic decision-making.
- Mandatory: ICAN or ACCA certification (or actively in view).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven professional accounting experience, preferably within the service-oriented industry.
- Solid, up-to-date knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or standard ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
