About the Role
LawPavilion Business Solutions is the number one African provider of LegalTech and Artificial Intelligence solutions, utilizing innovative technology to transform the practice of law across Nigeria and the wider continent. As we scale our operations, we are looking for a dedicated Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Lagos. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Accounts to manage daily financial transactions, ensure regulatory compliance, and support accurate financial reporting within a fast-paced technology environment.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate books of accounts, including daily bookkeeping, journal entries, and ledger management.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including client invoicing, vendor payments, and collection follow-ups.
- Perform regular bank, vendor, and customer ledger reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities alongside the preparation of financial statements.
- Support statutory compliance filings, including tax returns and other regulatory obligations.
- Assist with internal and external audit processes by preparing necessary schedules and documentation.
- Track and process employee expense reimbursements and payroll-related accounting entries.
- Identify and flag financial discrepancies, errors, or process gaps proactively to management.
- Bachelor Degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- One to four years of practical experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial support roles.
- Strong grasp of double-entry bookkeeping, financial reconciliations, and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, with working knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage 50.
- Enrolled in or partly qualified for professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, or CMA is an advantage.
- Prior experience within a technology, SaaS, or startup environment is highly preferred.
