Benin Electricity Distribution Plc (BEDC) is one of the leading retail electricity distribution companies licensed by the Federal Government, powering millions of households across Delta, Edo, Ekiti, and Ondo States. We are currently seeking a dynamic and analytical Internal Audit Officer to join our growing team and help minimize losses through rigorous, risk-based auditing.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in executing comprehensive audit engagements, ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, and timeliness of all audit reports and standard processes.
- Participate actively in internal audit engagements and corporate investigations.
- Review financial, operational, and compliance processes to guarantee the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Document audit findings accurately and prepare clear, concise audit reports for management review.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Review the monitoring and enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policy implementations.
- Follow up on audit recommendations and track the implementation status of corrective actions.
- Identify process gaps and recommend practical improvement opportunities and control enhancements.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by management.
- Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related fields.
- Professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, or CIA will be considered a strong added advantage.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant professional experience in auditing, accounting, or compliance within a structured corporate environment.
