About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and diligent Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining financial integrity, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring seamless financial operations within a fast-paced fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and journal entries in compliance with IFRS standards.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank and settlement account reconciliations with high precision.
  • Support the preparation of comprehensive monthly management accounts and financial statements.
  • Ensure timely remittance and filing of statutory taxes, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and CIT with FIRS and LIRS.
  • Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Process vendor payments, staff expense claims, and payroll-related entries efficiently.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, schedules, and audit trails.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, monitor internal accounting controls, and collaborate closely with the settlement and compliance teams.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3 to 5 years of proven accounting experience, ideally within the banking, fintech, or payments industry.
  • Professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA (or actively in view) is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or similar ERP systems.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of Nigerian tax laws, financial regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
