About the Role
Artee Group is one of Nigeria’s leading retail and consumption conglomerates, operating prominent brands such as SPAR, Park n Shop, and various lifestyle stores across the country. We are currently seeking an experienced and meticulous Chief Cashier to join our vibrant team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining robust financial controls, managing cash governance, and leading our front-end checkout teams to ensure seamless daily operations and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Own daily end-to-end reconciliation of cash, card, and other approved payment channels while ensuring strict adherence to financial policies.
- Investigate and resolve cash shortages, overages, unusual transactions, and variances promptly.
- Oversee front-end controls such as refunds, voids, discounts, price overrides, and cash pickups, conducting periodic spot checks.
- Lead, coach, and manage Cashier Supervisors and cashiers to maintain high standards of productivity, accuracy, and customer service.
- Resolve significant payment and checkout escalations while working closely with the Store Manager to address recurring operational issues.
- Submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly cash exception reports and recommend process improvements to reduce loss and enhance efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience in cash management, retail finance, or treasury operations, preferably within the FMCG or retail sector.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems, checkout technologies, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a proven track record of managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
