In this role, you will play a pivotal part in preserving our rich cultural heritage while equipping students with essential linguistic and analytical skills necessary for academic success and future careers.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Yoruba language and literature lessons to secondary school students in alignment with the national curriculum.
- Assess, monitor, and record students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Create a stimulating, inclusive, and culturally enriching classroom environment that encourages active student participation.
- Integrate modern teaching aids and educational technology to enhance the learning experience.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and guidance counselors to support overall student welfare and academic development.
- Participate in school extracurricular activities, cultural events, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Possession of a Bachelor of Arts in Yoruba, Education in Yoruba, or a closely related field from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Proven experience teaching Yoruba language at the secondary school level is highly preferred.
- Strong command of both written and spoken Yoruba and English languages.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- A genuine passion for teaching, cultural education, and student mentorship.
- Certification in education (NCE, TRCN, or PGDE) will be an added advantage.
