About the Role
Iwo-FMradio, the Voice of Iwo and Heart of the People, is seeking a passionate, articulate, and dynamic Yoruba & English News Caster to join our vibrant broadcast team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, compelling, and timely news bulletins to our growing audience in both Yoruba and English. If you possess a golden voice, excellent command of both languages, and a passion for broadcasting, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities- Research, write, and present news bulletins clearly and professionally in both Yoruba and English.
- Conduct live interviews with newsmakers, community leaders, and local stakeholders.
- Stay updated with local, national, and international current affairs to ensure accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with producers and editors to select and package compelling news stories.
- Ensure compliance with broadcasting standards and station editorial policies during all transmissions.
- Participate in community outreach programs and represent Iwo-FMradio at public events.
- Minimum of a Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
- Proven professional experience as a news caster or broadcast journalist in a reputable media organization.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both fluent English and idiomatic Yoruba.
- Strong voice modulation, clear diction, and confidence in live broadcast environments.
- Good working knowledge of broadcast equipment and digital audio workstations.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom.
