About the Role
Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), a prestigious public institution renowned for academic and research excellence in Ile-Ife, Osun State, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Workshop Supervisor to join our dynamic technical team. In this vital role, you will oversee daily workshop activities, ensure the optimal functioning of equipment, and mentor junior technical staff to support the university’s infrastructural and academic operations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily operations and workflow within the university workshop to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Coordinate scheduled and corrective maintenance of institutional equipment, machinery, and facilities.
- Monitor inventory levels of tools and materials, requisitioning supplies as necessary.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across all workshop activities.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate junior technicians and trade staff to foster a high-performance culture.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance logs, and equipment status reports.
- Possession of five (5) O Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
- Valid Government Trade Test Class I certification in a relevant technical trade.
- Minimum of 9 years of post-qualification hands-on experience in a workshop or industrial environment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
