About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Wells Advisor III to join our dynamic team. In this late-career, expert-level role, you will be instrumental in mentoring drilling and completion engineers, optimizing well planning and design, and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of complex drilling programs across multiple rig lines in Nigeria's oil and gas sector.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Wells Advisor III, you will provide vital technical oversight and leadership across various phases of drilling and completion operations. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Mentor and provide guidance to less-experienced drilling and completion engineers.
- Provide rigorous oversight of drilling programs to ensure continuity and consistency across multiple rig lines.
- Interface directly with business units and affiliates regarding logistics, environmental compliance, regulatory standards, procurement, and cost stewardship.
- Develop and spearhead long-term team performance improvement initiatives and comprehensive engineering studies.
- Drive continuous efficiency improvements in drilling and completion operations.
- Participate actively in vendor clarifications, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), package acceptance, and review specification deviation requests.
- Evaluate engineering drawings, technical specifications, and ensure human factors engineering are integrated for personnel and equipment safety.
- Assist in the development and review of commissioning and System Integration Test (SIT) procedures.
- Support ongoing construction and commissioning efforts as required.
To qualify for this prestigious position with Scruples Resources, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, with Mechanical or Civil Engineering preferred.
- Extensive late-career industry experience in drilling rig development, covering FEED, detail design, construction, and commissioning.
- Proven background in construction site management, with a strong familiarity in drilling well-site design.
- Comprehensive knowledge of offshore oil and gas regulations and applicable industry codes such as API, ASME, ANSI, SAE, ASTM, ABS, DNV, SOLAS, and IMO.
- Advanced analytical, computing, and problem-solving skills with high adaptability to changing priorities.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplined team environments involving diverse stakeholders.
