About the Role
Terra Energy Services Nigeria Ltd (TES) is a leading indigenous engineering and oil and gas service company committed to delivering integrated solutions across the energy value chain. We are currently looking for a dedicated Well Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team in Lagos or Port Harcourt. In this role, you will lead the technical preparation, design, and execution strategies for complex upstream drilling, completion, and well intervention activities, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop well concepts, Basis of Design (BoD), and detailed well plans for drilling, completion, and intervention projects.
- Integrate subsurface targets, trajectories, casing designs, logistics, and operational constraints into cohesive strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive well schedules, cost estimates, risk registers, and execution readiness plans.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary technical workshops, peer reviews, and regulatory submissions.
- Identify technical, operational, and financial risks while recommending robust mitigation measures.
- Incorporate process safety, well integrity, and HSE considerations into all engineering designs.
- Capture lessons learned from completed wells to drive continuous improvement in future planning processes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 8 to 12 years of relevant upstream E&P experience with a strong focus on well planning and design.
- Demonstrated expertise in directional planning, casing design, cementing, and completion engineering.
- IWCF/IADC certification and professional engineering membership are highly desirable.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
