About the Role
WTS Energy, a global leader in manpower supply for the oil, gas, and energy sector, is seeking a talented Well Engineer Specialist for HPHT and Exploration Drilling. In this pivotal role, you will provide critical technical authority and assurance for high-risk well projects, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective well delivery for our premier clients in Nigeria's dynamic energy landscape.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning and technical assurance of HPHT, exploration, and appraisal wells using comprehensive engineering reviews and risk-based methodologies.
- Validate well designs, casing programs, pressure management strategies, and BOP specifications to ensure complete lifecycle integrity.
- Provide expert real-time advisory support during well control events, abnormal pressure encounters, and critical operations.
- Drive risk assessments, HAZIDs, and barrier management strategies to protect personnel, assets, and the environment.
- Mentor and coach Well Engineers and drilling teams to strengthen organizational capability and promote continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (Master's degree is a strong plus).
- 10 to 15 years of extensive drilling engineering experience with significant HPHT and exploration exposure.
- Current IWCF or IADC Well Control Supervisor Level Certification and BOSIET.
- COREN registration and active membership in relevant professional bodies.
- Proven expertise in offshore, onshore, and deepwater exploration drilling operations.
