About the Role
The Nigerian Navy is currently seeking dedicated and highly qualified individuals to join our esteemed maritime force as Weapon Electrical Mechanics (WEM). In this vital technical role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing sophisticated weapon and electrical systems deployed across our fleet. You will play a crucial part in ensuring our naval assets remain operationally ready to safeguard Nigeria's territorial waters and support national economic prosperity.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine maintenance, servicing, and repair of naval weapon systems and electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in advanced defense machinery.
- Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance activities, equipment status, and spare parts inventory.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure optimal performance and safety of all onboard systems.
- Adhere strictly to naval safety protocols and operational standards during all technical procedures.
- Participate in specialized training programs to stay updated with modern naval technology and weaponry.
- Minimum of SSCE or equivalent with 5 credits including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
- Holders of intermediate City and Guilds certificates or Trade Test II qualifications will be strongly considered.
- Demonstrated technical bias or hands-on mechanical and electrical background is a distinct advantage.
- Must be a Nigerian citizen of good character and meet the physical and medical fitness standards of the Nigerian Navy.
