About the Role

Sagar Vitaceuticals Nigeria Limited, a leading name in the Nigerian healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Water Plant Operator to join our manufacturing facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining our advanced water treatment facilities, ensuring an uninterrupted supply of high-purity water essential for pharmaceutical production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor daily performance of raw water pre-treatment, multimedia filters, Reverse Osmosis units, and UV sterilizers.
  • Conduct hourly and daily quality checks for key parameters such as conductivity, pH, TDS, and temperature, logging all readings accurately.
  • Perform periodic chemical regeneration of resin beds and routine thermal or chemical sanitization of distribution loops.
  • Execute preventive maintenance, clean filters, and inspect pumps, valves, and pipes to prevent unexpected system downtime.
  • Troubleshoot operational abnormalities and report major mechanical or electrical faults promptly to the Utility Manager.
  • Maintain comprehensive logbooks and audit-ready records adhering strictly to cGMP and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Handle water treatment chemicals safely in compliance with factory environmental, health, and safety protocols.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of OND, HND, Trade Test, or B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or Science Laboratory Technology.
  • 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience operating industrial, food processing, or pharmaceutical water purification plants.
  • Solid understanding of RO, EDI, ion exchange systems, and purified water distribution networks.
  • Strong commitment to safety, strict sanitary protocols, and accurate record-keeping.
