About the Role
Homeland Integrated Offshore Services Limited is an indigenous multidisciplinary organization offering Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation services in the oil and gas sector. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Waste Management Coordinator to join our growing team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining our commitment to environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance across all our operational sites.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive waste management plans and procedures in compliance with Nigerian environmental laws and international offshore standards.
- Oversee the safe collection, segregation, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste generated from operations.
- Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections of waste storage and disposal facilities to identify potential risks and corrective actions.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure all waste management permits and documentation are up to date.
- Provide training and awareness programs for crew members and site personnel regarding best practices in waste minimization and recycling.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports on waste generation volumes, disposal metrics, and environmental performance indicators.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Waste Management, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in waste management or environmental HSE roles, preferably within the oil and gas or maritime sector.
- Strong knowledge of local and international environmental regulations (NESREA, DPR/NUPRC, MARPOL, ISO 14001).
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Relevant professional certifications in HSE or environmental management will be an added advantage.
