About the Role
Roadmap for Women and Youth Development (RAWYOD) is a dynamic youth-led non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the rights of women, youth, and children while fostering community development across core areas such as governance, education, and peacebuilding. We are currently inviting applications from motivated young Nigerians to serve as Youth Civic Intelligence Participants under the Nigeria Youth Future Funds (NYFF) Project. In this role, successful candidates will play a crucial part in promoting transparency, civic engagement, and accountability by monitoring and documenting public projects and governance issues within their local communities. RAWYOD is committed to inclusivity, aiming for at least 50% female participation while strongly encouraging applications from rural, underserved, and marginalized areas.
Key Responsibilities- Participate fully in an intensive three-day Civic Intelligence Lab and all project-related orientations.
- Utilize the Arewa Civic Tracker to effectively document public projects and local governance issues.
- Collect, verify, and submit accurate, evidence-based data directly from your assigned community.
- Engage respectfully and professionally with local community members, traditional leaders, and relevant institutions.
- Complete all assigned monitoring activities and submit required reports within agreed project timelines.
- Maintain a strictly non-partisan, objective, and responsible posture throughout the civic monitoring process.
- Must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Possess a minimum of a Diploma, NCE, ND, HND, BSc, or equivalent post-secondary qualification.
- Currently reside in the specific LGA you wish to represent with deep knowledge of the local terrain.
- Own a functional smartphone or smart device capable of internet browsing, running the tracking app, and capturing GPS coordinates.
- Demonstrate a strong passion for good governance, community development, democracy, and citizen participation.
- Possess strong communication skills in English, Hausa, or other relevant local languages.
- Commit to adhering to RAWYOD’s organizational Code of Conduct and strict safeguarding policies.
- Gain hands-on training and professional experience in civic intelligence, tech-driven monitoring, and advocacy.
- Receive specialized capacity building through the exclusive three-day Civic Intelligence Lab.
- Expand your professional network by collaborating with fellow change-makers and civil society leaders.
- Directly contribute to grassroots development, transparency, and accountability in your local government area.
