About the Role

Sayed Farms Limited, an established leader in the Nigerian poultry and frozen food distribution sector, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Doctor to join our commercial broiler farm operations. With branches in Ibadan and Abuja, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, food safety, and operational efficiency across our expanding production facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide veterinary oversight for commercial broiler farm operations, ensuring optimal flock health, welfare, growth, and overall performance.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive flock health programmes covering vaccination, disease prevention, treatment, and routine health monitoring.
  • Conduct regular flock inspections, clinical examinations, post-mortem examinations, disease investigations, and diagnostic assessments.
  • Monitor key broiler performance indicators, including mortality, body weight, average daily gain, feed conversion ratio (FCR), and livability.
  • Implement and monitor strict biosecurity programmes, including farm hygiene, sanitation, pest control, and visitor movement control.
  • Investigate disease outbreaks and mortality trends, coordinate laboratory testing, and execute effective corrective actions.
  • Work closely with Farm Managers and production teams to identify and resolve factors impacting flock health and farm productivity.

Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution.
  • Must be fully registered and licensed to practice veterinary medicine with the Veterinary Council of Nigeria.
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience, with substantial hands-on expertise in commercial broiler farm operations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in poultry disease diagnosis, treatment protocols, outbreak management, and biosecurity enforcement.
  • Strong analytical skills to monitor flock performance metrics such as FCR, mortality rates, and growth uniformity using MS Office.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Willingness to travel between farm locations and respond promptly to critical flock health situations.
