About the Role
The British Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced UK/NG Season Marketing and Communications Manager to lead the strategic marketing and delivery of the UK/Nigeria Season of Culture 2028. Based in Nigeria, you will shape how this landmark bilateral initiative is experienced by diverse stakeholders, from government ministries to international media and creative sector partners. This vital role also supports the wider arts portfolio, ensuring a cohesive brand narrative that strengthens UK-Nigeria cultural ties.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for the Season of Culture 2028 and supporting annual arts programmes.
- Manage brand identity, digital channels, and high-profile public campaigns in coordination with the Federal Ministry and British Council UK.
- Brief, manage, and evaluate external creative agencies and vendors, ensuring adherence to brand and ethical standards.
- Oversee marketing budgets, financial reporting, procurement, and risk management across the arts portfolio.
- Cultivate strong relationships with senior institutional stakeholders, government partners, and Nigerian and UK media networks.
- Monitor campaign impact using audience insights and data to drive continuous improvement and strategic alignment.
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, supplemented by at least 7 years of professional experience, including 3 years in a senior capacity.
- Proven expertise in managing complex, multi-audience marketing campaigns and public-facing brand identities.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with senior government or institutional stakeholders and managing external agencies.
- Exceptional written English, digital acumen, and crisis communications management skills.
- Desirable assets include professional marketing certifications (e.g., CIM, CIPR) and deep knowledge of the UK and Nigerian creative sectors.
