In this role, you will play a vital part in our distribution network, ensuring our communication products reach retail and wholesale partners safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Key Responsibilities- Safely operate trucks and delivery vehicles to transport goods across short and long distances according to specified schedules.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to check for mechanical issues, safety hazards, and regulatory compliance.
- Secure cargo properly during loading and unloading to prevent damage, loss, or accidents during transit.
- Plan optimal delivery routes while accounting for traffic conditions, road quality, weather, and strict delivery timelines.
- Comply strictly with Nigerian traffic laws, speed limits, weight restrictions, and company safety protocols at all times.
- Maintain accurate documentation including trip reports, mileage logs, fuel consumption records, bills of lading, and delivery receipts.
- Monitor overall vehicle performance, promptly reporting any mechanical defects or maintenance needs to the fleet management team.
- Keep trucks and trailers clean, organized, and hygienic for safe daily operations.
- Minimum of WASC, GCE, Diploma, or equivalent educational qualification.
- Possession of a valid, up-to-date commercial driver's license (Class G, E, D, or equivalent Nigerian professional driving certification).
- Proven professional experience as a truck driver or heavy vehicle operator with a clean driving record.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe driving practices, route planning, and basic vehicle maintenance.
- Strong physical stamina, good time management skills, and the ability to adapt to challenging road and weather conditions.
