About the Role
Reliable Steel and Plastic Industry Limited, a reputable manufacturer of plastic and steel products established in 1998, is seeking a competent and experienced Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team in Onitsha, Anambra State. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our supply chain by ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of our quality products to destinations within and outside the state.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate heavy-duty company trucks for the transportation and delivery of goods to designated locations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure optimal vehicle condition.
- Ensure the proper handling, loading, and security of all goods in transit.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery notes, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Comply strictly with national traffic regulations and company safety policies at all times.
- Promptly report any vehicle faults, accidents, road delays, or logistical issues to management.
- Keep the assigned truck clean and properly maintained.
- Perform other transport and logistics duties as assigned by the Transport Supervisor.
- Minimum of 6 years of proven professional experience as a Truck Driver, specifically with heavy-duty vehicles.
- Must possess a valid Nigerian driver's license and all relevant vehicle documentation.
- Extensive knowledge of major road networks, routes, and highways within the South-East and other regions of Nigeria.
- Good understanding of road safety regulations, traffic laws, and defensive driving techniques.
- Ability to perform basic routine vehicle checks and identify early mechanical faults.
- Must be physically fit, highly responsible, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Flexibility to work varied hours and undertake interstate travel when required.
- Previous working experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or FMCG distribution environment is an added advantage.
