About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Transport Officer to join our dynamic team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this vital role, you will oversee daily transportation activities, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable movement of personnel and materials across our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate daily transportation activities, vehicle schedules, and travel plans for staff and official assignments.
- Manage fleet availability, utilization, and coordinate routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs with service providers.
- Supervise drivers to ensure adherence to safety standards, traffic regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor fuel consumption and vehicle-related expenses to support cost optimization initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle movements, mileage, incidents, and maintenance logs.
- Collaborate with HR, Administration, and Security departments to resolve operational logistics issues promptly.
- B.Sc. in Transport Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field with at least 7 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Professional certification in Transport Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain is an added advantage.
- Proven expertise in fleet management, driver supervision, vehicle maintenance monitoring, and fuel tracking.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations, defensive driving principles, and Nigerian transport routes.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
