About the Role
HBM Nigeria Plc (formerly Lafarge Africa Plc), a global leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions, is seeking a results-driven and dedicated Transport Executive - West to join our dynamic logistics team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of cement and building materials from our plants and depots to customers across the region. You will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional customer service, managing logistics service providers, and driving operational excellence in alignment with our commitment to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily operational activities within the transport function to guarantee optimal fleet availability and smooth product distribution from shipping points to delivery locations.
- Act as the single point of contact (SPoC) for all delivery-related issues, ensuring on-time delivery through real-time shipment tracking using GPS and IVMS tools.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of contracted Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) within contractual frameworks and agreed key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to execute strategic transportation plans and overarching logistics objectives.
- Execute cost-saving transportation initiatives and prepare data-driven reports and dashboards tracking KPIs such as OTIF, lead times, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Drive operational capability development among LSPs to meet company standards and customer expectations.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant operational experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain management with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time-management abilities with a proven track record of coordinating complex distribution networks.
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
