About the Role
Sinoma Cargo International Nigeria Limited is a leading logistics and supply chain subsidiary established in Lagos in 2016, specializing in general cargo delivery, heavy lifts, and oversized goods with a robust fleet of trailers and tow-beds. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Transmission Repair Specialist to join our dynamic workshop team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of our heavy-duty truck fleet, contributing directly to our seamless nationwide distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic faults in manual and automated transmission systems.
- Carry out repairs, servicing, and overhauls of truck gearboxes, clutches, and associated transmission components.
- Inspect, dismantle, clean, and reassemble transmission units according to strict manufacturer specifications.
- Identify faults in gear-shifting mechanisms, synchronisers, bearings, gears, shafts, and related parts.
- Utilize appropriate diagnostic tools and testing equipment to resolve transmission-related issues efficiently.
- Conduct rigorous post-repair testing to confirm proper transmission operation and roadworthiness.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and detailed reports of all repairs carried out.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to resolve complex vehicle and fleet faults.
- Ensure strict compliance with workshop procedures, safety guidelines, and company HSE standards.
- Strong, demonstrable knowledge of manual and automated manual transmission systems used in heavy-duty trucks.
- Practical hands-on experience in gearbox dismantling, component inspection, repairs, and reassembly.
- Ability to accurately interpret technical manuals, schematic drawings, and transmission diagrams.
- Proficiency in using mechanical tools, specialized diagnostic equipment, and workshop testing instruments.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Good understanding of preventive maintenance, workshop safety protocols, and quality control.
