About the Role

The Institute of Genomics and Global Health (IGH), formerly ACEGID, is seeking an experienced Training Coordinator to lead its academic and professional training programs across Africa for the STRIDE Program. Based in Ede, Osun, this contract role reports to the Deputy Director of Training and Capacity Building and offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of public health through genomics and bioinformatics workforce development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the academic implementation of STRIDE's MSc and PhD training programs in partnership with IGH, UCT, and UY.
  • Support curriculum planning, course scheduling, and faculty coordination to ensure high-quality program delivery.
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of genomics bootcamps, technical short courses, and leadership fellowships.
  • Monitor training quality and effectiveness, incorporating feedback from trainees, instructors, and institutional partners.
  • Facilitate communication between academic institutions, instructors, and STRIDE program leadership to ensure effective implementation.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher (PhD preferred) in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Public Health, or a related field.
  • 5 to 8 years of professional experience in academic program coordination, scientific training programs, or research education.
  • Strong technical background in genomics, molecular biology, or bioinformatics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, researchers, and institutional partners across multiple organizations.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
