About the Role

Brilliant Footsteps International Academy (BFIA), a prestigious private primary and secondary school in Sokoto State, is seeking a passionate and qualified Literature in English Teacher. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive Literature in English lessons to secondary school students in alignment with the approved curriculum.
  • Develop detailed lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Evaluate and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and timely reports to parents and school administration.
  • Encourage critical analysis of literary texts, poetry, and drama while fostering a vibrant reading culture among students.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and departmental meetings to support the holistic development of students.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment conducive to effective learning.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), B.A. (Ed) in English/Literature, or a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
  • Proven teaching experience delivering Literature in English at the secondary school level.
  • Strong command of the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian and international secondary school curricula.
  • A passion for teaching and the ability to integrate moral values into academic instruction.
