About the Role
DP World is a leading global supply chain solutions provider dedicated to making global trade flow better. We are currently seeking two experienced Driver Trainers to join our dynamic Transport Operations team in Ogun, Nigeria. In this role, you will manage training sessions for new and experienced delivery officers, evaluate driver performance, and contribute significantly to the long-term advancement of our logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct instructional training sessions for articulated truck drivers on safe and efficient driving techniques, maneuvering, and large vehicle handling.
- Develop and design a comprehensive training curriculum focusing on safety protocols, vehicle controls, traffic regulations, and load handling.
- Instruct newly recruited drivers on vehicle controls, inspection protocols, and adherence to company policies through on-board and shadow monitoring.
- Conduct periodic refresher courses and targeted training for experienced drivers to reinforce safe driving practices and address skill gaps.
- Assess driver performance through practical tests, evaluations, and feedback sessions, documenting candidates and shortlisting applicants for on-road testing.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to drivers on hazard management, driving techniques, and maintaining vehicle integrity.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and emergency response procedures.
- Liaise with the HSE unit to ensure driver compliance with health, safety, and security regulations, and participate in incident and accident investigations.
- Maintain accurate training records and generate detailed reports highlighting outcomes and areas for continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or an equivalent field of study.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience specifically training articulated truck drivers.
- Demonstrated expertise in transport and logistics, warehouse operations, freight forwarding, and manufacturing environments.
- Relevant certifications in training and development or instructional design are highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, defensive driving strategies, and transport safety protocols.
