About the Role
DP World is looking for two dedicated and professional Trainer Drivers to join our dynamic team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will manage training sessions for new and experienced delivery officers, evaluating their performance and contributing to the long-term advancement of our Transport Operations function. You will play a crucial part in maintaining our commitment to a seamless, safe, and efficient global supply chain.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct instructional training sessions for articulated truck drivers on safe and efficient driving techniques, maneuvering, and large vehicle handling.
- Develop and design a comprehensive training curriculum focusing on safety protocols, vehicle controls, traffic regulations, and load handling.
- Instruct newly recruited drivers on operations, conduct on-board and shadow monitoring, and assess performance through practical tests.
- Deliver periodic refresher courses for experienced drivers to reinforce safe driving practices and update knowledge on regulatory changes.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to drivers on hazard management, defensive driving, and maintaining vehicle integrity.
- Collaborate with the HSE unit to train drivers on health, safety, and security policies, and participate in incident and accident investigations.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, assessments, and driver progress, generating detailed reports for management.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or a related equivalent field.
- At least 5 years of post-graduate experience specifically training articulated truck drivers within transport, logistics, warehousing, freight forwarding, or manufacturing sectors.
- Professional certification in training and development, instructional design, or a related area is a strong advantage.
