We are currently looking for a dedicated and professional Trainer: Driver to join our dynamic transport operations team in Nigeria, playing a vital role in elevating driving standards, promoting safety culture, and contributing to the long-term advancement of our logistics network.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive instructional training sessions for articulated truck drivers focusing on safe and efficient driving techniques, maneuvering, and vehicle operation.
- Develop, design, and update a robust training curriculum, course materials, presentations, and assessments covering traffic regulations, vehicle controls, and load handling.
- Deliver onboarding programs for newly recruited drivers, conducting on-board and shadow monitoring to ensure adherence to company policies.
- Organize periodic refresher courses and targeted training plans to address identified skill gaps among experienced drivers.
- Assess driver performance through practical evaluations, screening candidates for on-road testing and maintaining accurate training records.
- Collaborate closely with the HSE unit to enforce health, safety, and security regulations, and actively participate in incident and accident investigations.
- Prepare drivers for emergency responses, including vehicle breakdowns, adverse weather conditions, and accident prevention strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or an equivalent academic qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of postgraduate experience in training articulated truck drivers within transport, logistics, warehousing, freight forwarding, or manufacturing sectors.
- Professional certification in training, development, instructional design, or a related area is highly advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of transport operations, defensive driving techniques, and heavy-duty vehicle maintenance protocols.
