About the Role
Genesis Group, a leading Nigerian conglomerate spanning hospitality, entertainment, and industrial catering, is looking for a motivated and analytical Trainee Accountant to join our expanding corporate finance department. In this entry-level position, you will work closely with qualified finance professionals, gaining hands-on experience in daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance while supporting our diverse business units across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Input daily invoices, expenses, and cash book entries accurately into accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
- Perform routine bank reconciliations and effectively manage accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
- Assist the finance team with journal entries, trial balances, and comprehensive month-end closing procedures.
- Organize financial documents and thoroughly verify records in preparation for both internal and external audits.
- Help ensure all financial files strictly adhere to regulatory guidelines and internal company policies.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related business discipline.
- Basic understanding of fundamental accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail, high ethical standards, and strong organizational skills.
