About the Role
Busha is one of Africa’s leading digital asset platforms, on a mission to onboard millions into the crypto economy. We are looking for an experienced Trading Engineer to take ownership of the Busha Pro exchange, ensuring high performance, zero downtime, and absolute reliability for real-time transactions.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and optimize backend systems powering Busha Pro’s trading capabilities and matching engines.
- Keep matching deterministic under peak load, ensuring zero crossed books or stale order states.
- Improve system performance, reduce latency, and build robust safeguards like circuit breakers and kill switches.
- Maintain exact ledgers, ensuring atomic settlement of trades, fees, and fiat/crypto reconciliations.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver zero-downtime releases and maintain on-call rotations.
- 5 to 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend development skills.
- Proficiency in Go, Rust, C++, or Java, with a willingness to write production code primarily in Go.
- Hands-on experience building or scaling real-time trading systems, matching engines, or exchanges.
- Solid understanding of order books, concurrency, data consistency, and low-latency architecture.
- Practical approach to testing, profiling, debugging, and maintaining production system reliability.
