About the Role
Standard Chartered Bank is looking for a dedicated Trade Operations Officer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will provide accurate and timely pre-processing, scanning, registration, custody, and handover of documentary trade and client instructions while supporting robust operational controls and compliance with Group policies.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, time-stamp, and register Final Exchange Control Documents (FECD) and scan them to the processing team.
- Prepare document checks for Letters of Credit (LC) and Bills for Collection (BFC) originals, ensuring smooth workflow movement.
- Maintain secure custody of unprocessed documents and promptly escalate outstanding items or operational risks.
- Execute all activities in strict accordance with anti-money laundering procedures, sanctions requirements, and local regulations.
- Support foreign exchange utilisation for loan liquidation, loan-extension processing, and related reconciliation activities.
- Build strong relationships at transactional and operational levels to deliver seamless client service.
- Minimum of a University degree or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Proven operational experience in trade services, documentary trade processing, and document handling.
- Strong working knowledge of trade products, process flows, accounting rules, and service-quality principles.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with proficiency in MS Office and digital tools.
