About the Role

We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Trade Finance Specialist to join our finance team and support our expanding petroleum marketing, importation, and trading operations.
Key Responsibilities- Execute and manage trade finance instruments including Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs), Bank Guarantees, Bills for Collection, Trade Loans, and Supplier Finance Facilities.
- Coordinate the issuance, amendment, negotiation, and settlement of trade finance instruments with local and international financial institutions.
- Review and validate trade documentation, including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and Certificates of Origin, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Liaise directly with local and international banks to facilitate seamless transaction processing, confirmations, and settlements.
- Monitor trade finance facility utilization and support liquidity management and working capital optimization objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of all trade finance transactions to fully support audit and regulatory review processes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- A Master's degree in a relevant field and professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, CIBN, ACT, or Certified Trade Finance Professional (CTFP) will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in trade finance, treasury operations, corporate banking, or financial services.
- Demonstrated sector experience in oil and gas, energy, commodities trading, importation, shipping, or logistics.
- Sound knowledge of international trade finance practices, UCP 600, and comprehensive documentation requirements.
