About the Role
Nile University of Nigeria is looking to engage a highly competent and result-oriented Chemistry Technologist with strong personal and professional integrity to join its dynamic academic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in preparing laboratory tests, supporting research activities, and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure precise and reliable data for scientific investigations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform pre-class setup of apparatus, reagents, and materials for practical classes.
- Assist in routine teaching and research laboratory work, including equipment maintenance and general upkeep.
- Provide general teaching and research support to academic staff.
- Offer in-class operational support and facilitate undergraduate practical classes.
- Advise on procurement of equipment, chemicals, and reagents required for teaching and research.
- Investigate and resolve problems relating to equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow.
- Perform quality control procedures, maintain accurate records, and document corrective measures.
- Support the daily operations, maintenance, and upkeep of laboratories and teaching facilities.
- Prepare documentation for safety audits and assist in updating safety records.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety communication to students and departmental staff.
- A Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma in Chemistry or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in a similar role.
- Certified membership of a relevant professional body with a valid practicing license.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office packages and video conferencing tools such as MS Teams.
