About the Role
Boskalis is a leading global maritime infrastructure and services provider, offering innovative solutions for coastal defense, dredging, and offshore energy. We are currently seeking a dedicated Technical Superintendent to join our team in Onne, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. In this role, you will manage day-to-day maintenance and repair activities for assigned vessels, ensuring high technical reliability, strict adherence to safety standards, and optimal fleet performance within established budgets and timelines.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and execute daily preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maximize vessel uptime and prevent off-hire incidents.
- Supervise, coach, and instruct chief engineers onboard to ensure technical management aligns with company expectations and guidelines.
- Manage repairs, supervise crew members, and oversee subcontractors in compliance with agreed planning, budgets, and quality standards.
- Take full accountability for cost allocations related to vessel repairs, maintenance, dockings, modifications, and damage reports.
- Promote and monitor Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) awareness, leading by example to enforce safe working practices.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, classification societies, and flag states to maintain the technical integrity and compliance of all vessels.
- Minimum of 7 years of verifiable professional experience as a Technical Superintendent, Port Engineer, or Technical Manager in a maritime environment.
- Higher or secondary vocational education in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
- Prior hands-on experience as a Chief Engineer on Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs) is highly preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of vessel systems, maintenance software, and international maritime regulations.
- Fluent command of the English language, both spoken and written, with strong interpersonal skills.
