We are currently seeking a highly skilled Drilling Technician to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will provide vital technical support and supervision for active rig-site operations, well completions, and workovers, ensuring all activities align with our rigorous engineering and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support active rig-site operations by executing technical data collection, tool preparation, and downhole fluid property monitoring.
  • Assist well engineers in coordinating programs for drilling, completions, workovers, wireline logging, and sidetracks.
  • Perform advanced mathematical calculations for cement designs, hydraulics, and daily performance metrics.
  • Ensure rig equipment and third-party tools are organized, calibrated, and deployed in accordance with drilling programs.
  • Lead safety initiatives, ensuring Well Completion, Re-completion, and Workover programs comply strictly with Company EHS policies.
  • Maintain well integrity, manage risk registers, and verify surface and downhole equipment availability.
  • Troubleshoot major operational challenges such as fishing operations and kicks, providing expert technical intervention.
  • Mentor and coach junior colleagues in well intervention and completion engineering best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, or a relevant technical discipline (MSc preferred).
  • Specific technical training in well barrier management.
  • Minimum of 10 years of combined office-based engineering and active field supervisory experience.
  • At least 5 years dedicated to complex, high-risk drilling environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership in EHS compliance and contractor management within the Nigerian oil and gas sector.
