About the Role
Boskalis is a global leader in dredging, maritime infrastructure, and marine services, providing innovative solutions for complex waterborne challenges. We are currently seeking a dedicated Technical Superintendent to join our team in Nigeria at AfrikDelta Marine Ltd, an operational unit of Smit Lamnalco. In this dynamic role, you will oversee day-to-day maintenance and repair activities for assigned vessels, ensuring maximum technical reliability, strict adherence to safety standards, and optimal fleet utilization within budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and execute daily preventive maintenance activities to maintain vessel technical reliability and prevent downtime.
- Supervise, coach, and instruct chief engineers onboard to align technical management with company expectations.
- Manage repairs, ensuring crew and subcontractors adhere to agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Oversee accurate cost allocation related to vessel maintenance, dockings, damages, and modifications.
- Promote Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) awareness, leading by example to enforce safe working practices.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, classification societies, and flag states regarding technical vessel integrity.
- Minimum of 7 years of verifiable experience as a Technical Superintendent, Port Engineer, or Technical Manager (junior applicants with relevant backgrounds are also welcome to apply).
- Higher vocational education in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a Chief Engineer on Offshore Support Vessels is highly preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of maritime regulations, classification societies, and SHEQ standards.
- Fluent command of English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
