About the Role
Pacific Drilling S.A. is a growing global offshore drilling company providing ultra-deepwater drilling services to the oil and natural gas industry using high-specification drillships. We operate one of the newest, most technologically advanced fleets in the world and are dedicated to safety, integrity, and operational excellence. We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Mentor to join our team in Nigeria, where you will play a vital role in enhancing equipment reliability and supporting our offshore operations.
Key Responsibilities- Review and optimize maintenance tasks and schedules using computerized maintenance management systems such as SAP and AMPS to ensure maximum equipment functionality and availability.
- Provide expert direction and oversight to rig and regional personnel for troubleshooting complex drilling systems to minimize potential downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement proactive maintenance strategies that enhance overall fleet performance.
- Mentor and develop local technical personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning and adherence to safety standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline or comparable industry experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience and responsibility in electrical and mechanical systems within the oil and gas sector.
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems, with SAP experience strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide clear technical direction in high-pressure offshore environments.
