About the Role
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is an international non-governmental organization implementing relief and development programs across 99+ countries. In Nigeria since 2000, CRS focuses on agriculture, HIV and health, extractives and governance, and peace-building initiatives. We seek a passionate Technical Advisor II - MEAL to spearhead our monitoring and evaluation framework, ensuring quality programming that serves vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement country-specific MEAL systems aligned with global CRS frameworks, donor requirements, and best practices across the project lifecycle
- Lead needs assessments and design results frameworks, theories of change, and SMILER+ measurement approaches
- Conduct rigorous qualitative and quantitative data analysis while maintaining highest data quality standards
- Ensure donor and organizational compliance through consistent application of MEAL standards across all activities
- Strengthen partner organization capacity through targeted MEAL training, coaching, and technical assistance
- Produce comprehensive donor reports, manage quarterly stakeholder meetings, and communicate findings to internal and external audiences
- Contribute to influence and scaling strategies through systems analysis and evidence generation
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing across regional MEAL forums and promote organizational learning initiatives
- Master's degree in international development, statistics, economics, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 10 years' international development experience with 5+ years as MEAL technical advisor
- Proven expertise in indicator development, data collection methodologies, and analysis using SPSS, Stata, or R
- Experience working with NGOs, government partners, and community stakeholders in overseas settings
- Advanced presentation, training, and mentoring capabilities
- Fluency in English; proficiency in local Nigerian languages required
- Willingness to travel up to 25% within Nigeria and regionally
